First thing you have to know your requirement. For what you are going to use the camera, is it for home only, parties, nature, landscape or advertisement.
According to your need you will be able to choose your camera, but if you are just normal user I can advice you with one of these two:

Fuji Finpix “for Fuji I sagest to find any thing with 3.1 or more mega pixels”.
I have tried this 2 brands and fond that they are rely good and have reasonable prices.
